PURPOSE: A device and method for automatically controlling high-pressure pump cleaner are provided to prevent unnecessary idling and reduction of durability of a high-pressure pump. CONSTITUTION: A device includes a piston valve body(1) placed in a surge valve actuated by pressure of fluid momentarily intercepted; a ball valve(2) installed behind the piston valve body and actuated by movement of the piston valve body; a valve rod(3) installed behind the ball valve and actuated by the ball valve; an overflow pipe(4) placed on a side of the ball valve and opened and closed by the ball valve so that fluid flows into an intake chamber of a head of a high-pressure pump to make pressure in the high-pressure pump zero when opened; a rod of a switch part connected with the valve rod and actuated by the valve rod when the pressure in the high-pressure pump becomes zero; gap adjusting nuts(6,6') installed to face each other and connected to an end of the rod; a surge spring(8) in the surge valve making the ball valve actuated to open and close by movement of the valve rod in the surge valve; a return spring(9) placed between the rod and one of the gap adjusting nuts to return the rod; power connectors(7,7') connected with the other of the gap adjusting nuts and connected and disconnected by operation of the gap adjusting nuts; a grounding return spring(10) placed between the gap adjusting nuts and the power connectors to be operated by the rod; and a surge control nut(11) installed on an outside of the surge valve.
