<p>The invention relates to a process for manufacturing cast iron ingots and to thereby manufactured cast iron ingots meant to be used together with the waste iron in charging the converters for steel smelting. According to the invention, the process consists in supplying the casting moulds with pellets of pyrite dross comprising: 52...54% Fe; 0.8% Mn; 8.2% SiO2; 6% CaO; 2.5% Al2O2; 0.6% S; at most 0.15% As; at most 0.15% Cu; at most 0.15% Zn; at most 0.01% Pb, to which an amount of pig iron approximately equal to the amount of pellets is added, the casting mould being completely charged. The cast iron ingots manufactured by the claimed process comprise pellets of pyrite dross embedded in cast iron.</p> |
