PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject vessel capable of favorably growing a plant when the plant is planted in soil in an unglazed pot, or the like. SOLUTION: This vessel 1 for plant raising such as an unglazed pot is produced by kneading alkaline material powder 2 with potter's clay followed by burning to an alkalescence of pH 7-8. Using the vessel 1 thus produced, the roots 4a of a plant 4 planted in soil in the vessel 1 are contacted with the inner surface of the vessel 1 so as to favorably grow the plant 4.
