PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reverse osmosis fresh water generator which achieves energy saving and can generate fresh water of high quality. SOLUTION: In the fresh water generator, feed water is boosted up by a turbocharger 4 to feed it to a reverse osmosis membrane module unit 3, thereby obtaining permeated water. A post stage reverse osmosis membrane module unit 8 is directly connected to a permeated water outlet port of the unit 3, without additionally providing a booster means, whereby the feed water is boosted up by the turbocharger 4 provided in the front stage of the unit 3, and pressure difference at the unit 8 is ensured by the charger 4. The energy supplied by the charger 4 is consumed by the unit 3 and the permeation of the feed water to the unit 8 so that efficiency can be improved.
