PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for smoothly supplying an ink even when flowability of the ink is reduced due to an ink thixotropy in the apparatus for supplying the ink from the outside of a printer. SOLUTION: The apparatus for supplying the ink feeds the in, under pressure from an ink tank, supplies the ink to an ink receiver of the printer, and returns excess ink to the tank. The apparatus has specifications of (a) a pressure reducing valve provided before the ink receiver, (b) a back pressure valve provided after the receiver, and (c) an ink flowability sensing mechanism provided between the pressure reducing valve and the back pressure valve.
