PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for mass-producing a 'Monaka' (bean-jam-filled wafers) confectionery capable of mass-producing the relatively small-sized Monaka confectionery enclosing a food material (e.g. an ice cream) in a pair of wafers of the Monaka with a high efficiency at low cost, and to provide the wafers of the Monaka used therefor. SOLUTION: The wafers of the Monaka comprise a bottom wall and peripheral walls connectedly provide from the peripheries of the bottom wall in the upward direction and have an opened opposite surface of the bottom wall which has plural partitioning protruding ridges extending to the same height as that of the peripheral walls. The method for producing the Monaka confectionery comprises using the pair of the wafers of the Monaka, superimposing the opening of the one wafer containing the food material from the opening of the wafer of the Monaka on the opening of the other wafer of the Monaka and bringing the mutual top sides of the plural partitioning protruding ridges into contact with the mutual top sides of the peripheral walls, enclosing the food material in the pair of wafers and then cutting the pair of wafers of the Monaka enclosing the food material at positions where the plural partitioning protruding ridges are present.
