PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic ink jet recording head and an ink jet recorder in which dot diameter modulation can be effected. SOLUTION: The acoustic ink jet recording head 10 ejects an ink liquid drop 36 from the free surface 32 of ink when an oscillator 28 is driven at the basic frequency of an acoustic Fresnel lens 24 or a frequency equal to an integer times of the basic frequency. Dot diameter modulation is effected by switching the frequency. The ink liquid drop can be ejected surely even at a different drive frequency by varying the amplitude or the applying time of a drive signal being applied to the oscillator 28 depending on the drive frequency.
