PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a change of cutters 32 and an adjustment to the clearance between receiving members 42 and the cutters 32 by facilitating the attachment and detachment of a cutter shaft 3 to and from a frame 2. SOLUTION: A stem/culm cutter comprises the plurality of rotary blades 32 for cutting a stem/culm into a given cut length, on the cutter shaft 30 rotatable in a cutting direction. The cutter shaft 30 is divided into support shafts 30a and 30b rotatably journaled on both sides of the cutter frame 2, and a cutter mounting shaft 35 carrying the cutters. The cutter mounting shaft 35 is fixed, for adjustive axial movement, to the support shafts 30a and 30b, so that the clearance is adjustable between the rotary blades 32 and the receiving members 42 opposed thereto.
