PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold in which the usable range of frequency is enlarged while reducing current loss caused by the generation of induction current in the mold and also, the force stirring molten metal is increased while improving the permeability of an electromagnetic force in an electromagnetic stirring device and the optimum current can always be given to the molten metal. SOLUTION: In the continuous casting mold having faced two sets of copper plates and back plates and the electromagnetic stirring coils for circularly stirring the molten metal to the horizontal direction by impressing shifting magnetic field to molten metal at a part or the whole of the faced copper plates and back plates, at least one set of copper plates is divided into at least two parts along the vertical plane in the casting direction, respectively. In the back plate for supporting the divided copper plates, a cooling water groove is passed into the copper plate from the lower part of the back plate and passed out to the upper part of the back plate again through the inner part of the copper plate after detouring the divided part of the copper plate at the back plate side.
