PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spray type retort having an improved tray-holding means for fixing trays to tray-housing parts of a rotating body. SOLUTION: Tray-pushing lids 30 are installed in the upper parts of the tray-housing parts 2j of the rotating body 2, and keep and hold the trays 3 housed in the tray-housing parts 2j by pushing the trays 3 with elastic forces of springs 34. Pushing lid-lifting parts 40 are, for example, air cylinders installed in the upper parts of a sterilizing vessel 1, and release the trays 3 by lifting up the tray-pushing lids 30 by engaging piston rods 42 with the upper parts of the tray-pushing lids 30. Members 50 for preventing the rotating body 2 from being floated are members for preventing the rotating body 2 from being floated.
