PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storing apparatus and storing method for raw tea leaves for improving the efficiency of the work to manually move a traveling cart and enabling arbitrary setting of the starting point of a reciprocating travel of the cart in case of a so-called lump charge or a divided charge of the leaves. SOLUTION: The apparatus for holding raw tea leaves is provided with a raw tea leaf holding part 1 having an air-permeable conveyor 6 and a blowing fan 7, a traveling cart 2, a circulating conveyor 3 for charging the raw tea leaves and a controller 4 fixed on the floor. The controller 4 can be operated by a portable remote operation terminal 5.
