PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of cutting that can easily and completely cut a leg portion of a molding, and a cutter that can reliably cut a leg portion of a molding without structural complexity and is easy to maintain. SOLUTION: After a leg portion 83 of a molding is interposed between a first cutting blade 20 and a second cutting blade 30 with cutting edges 27a and 37a opposed to each other, the first and second cutting blades are advanced to each other or to the molding leg portion from both sides of the molding leg portion, until the cutting edges bite into the leg portion in a sandwiching relation to positionally fix a decorative portion of the molding. With both cutting edges biting into both sides of the molding leg portion, the first and second cutting blades are moved to one cutting blade side.
