PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for collecting dust using a bag filter type dust collector, capable of reducing damage to the bag filter cloth and extending the service life even 3 times that of a conventional bag filter. SOLUTION: This method is characterized in that such a bag filter used that is provided with a pleat filter cloth inserted between an outer cage formed cylindrically with metal wire and an inner cage, and a cushioning material installed at least on the part where the outer cage is in contact with the filter cloth. Further, if necessary, in addition, a differential pressure gauge is equipped so as to detect the pressure difference between an exhaust-gas suction chamber (a primary chamber) before collecting by the bag filter and the exhaust-gas suction member (a secondary chamber) after collecting by the bag filter, and the partial backward washing of the bag filter can be realized in an off-line way according to the value of the differential pressure gauge.
