PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell transplantation bag capable of inducing a blood vessel new formation and an artificial pancreas using it. SOLUTION: This cell transplantation bag comprises a permeable bag formed of a polymer material and a gradually releasable carrier containing collagen and a blood vessel new formation-inducing factor, the carrier being housed in the bag. The blood vessel new formation is promoted by the synergism of the both, and the function of a transplanted cell can be kept over a long period. This artificial pancreas is formed by transplanting a pancreatic islet into the cell transplantation bag, and it is usable for a long period since the function of the pancreatic islet can be kept over a long period by the above effect. |
