PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head ensuring high quality print until a battery is used up. SOLUTION: The heater 3 of a thermal head S comprises a plurality of odd dots 3a, 3b, 3c, 3n formed at odd number points counting from the dot 3a at one end part in the arranging direction, and a plurality of even dots 4a, 4b, 4n between the odd dots formed at even number points counting from the dot 3a at one end part. Resistance is differentiated between the odd dot and even dot and even dots having a lower resistance are heated when the residual capacity of a battery is low thus ensuring printing of a high quality image even if the residual capacity of a battery is low.
