PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely treat wastewater even by a worker having no expert knowledge by using an apparatus simplified in constitution and facilitated in operation management. SOLUTION: This method for treating wastewater comprises adding an electrolytic solution to the wastewater obtained by cleaning coating tools used for coating with a water-based acrylic coating, agitating them to obtain acrylic resin slurry, settling the slurry and separating the acrylic resin. The supernatant water obtained by settling the slurry is reused for cleaning the coating tools.
