<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nitrification and denitrification method by which a nitrification process step and denitrification process step may be efficiently carried out, microorganism carriers withstand long-term use at this time, high treatment performance may be stably achieved, the compactification of treating facilities is made possible and a treating time and treating cost may be reduced. SOLUTION: The nitrification and denitrification method for organic waste water which nitrifies and denitifies the nitrogen in the waste water by using the microorganism carriers consists in using the microorganism carriers consisting of a thermoplastic organic polymer compound of 50 to 3,500% in water absorption in a completely swollen state with water, >=1.0 MPa in compressive yield stress and 1.0 to 30 mm grain size for both of the nitrification process step and the denitrification process step.</p> |
