PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve load unbalance around the rotary shaft of a drum due to the uneven distribution of laundry. SOLUTION: A plurality of water storage tanks 20 whose inner peripheral sides are opened are arranged around a main shaft 7 on the back surface of the drum 3. In the case that an eccentric load due to the uneven distribution of the laundry exceeds an allowable value, a water supply valve 14 is opened while rotating the drum 3, water is introduced into the respective water storage tanks 20 and it is held by centrifugal force. Thereafter, the drum 3 is temporarily decelerated at a timing corresponding to an eccentric load position, only the water inside the water storage tank 20 at a position same as or close to the eccentric load position is dropped and the weight is reduced. A water discharge amount from the water storage tank 20 at the eccentric load position is determined in anticipation of the discharge of moisture content from the laundry at the time of high speed dehydration on the basis of the eccentric load.
