PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To end drying in the state that clothes are not entangled, to reduce wrinkles at the end of drying and to shorten drying time in a washing and drying machine provided with a process for blowing hot air into the inside of an inner tub and drying laundry and consistently conducting washing to drying. SOLUTION: The inner tub 19 for housing the laundry is supported freely rotatably around a vertical axis inside an outer tub 18 suspended inside a case body 16, an agitation blade 20 is freely rotatably arranged on the inner bottom part of the inner tub 19 and the inner tub 19 or the agitation blade 20 is driven by a motor 24. Air heated by a heater 28 is blown into the inner tub 19 by a blower 27 for drying, cooling air is introduced into the case body 16 by the blower 32 for cooling and the operations of the motor 24, the blower 27 for drying and the heater 28, etc., are controlled by a controller 35. In the washing process, a washing system for rotating the laundry and water inside the inner tub 19 by the rotation of the inner tub 19 and washing the laundry is provided and shifting to dehydrating and drying processes is performed following the washing process of the system.
