PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sterilizing e.g. food, securely attaining complete sterilization in an easy way without using any special apparatus, nor causing such a problem as toxicity. SOLUTION: This method for sterilization comprises moist heat-treatment at >=95 deg.C with a protamine content of >=0.01 wt.% and at >=pH 9.0 in an ambience with the presence of microorganisms e.g. in an aqueous solution or inside a food.
