PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink drying preventing device and a storage container for ink jet recording head in which ink in the ink jet recording head can be prevented from drying up for a long term, and an ink jet recorder in which ink in the ink jet recording head can be prevented from drying up to cause lowering of print quality or to bring about an unprintable state. SOLUTION: A long porous material 12 impregnated with a sealing liquid 14 is wound from the opposite ends thereof by means of winding rollers 15, 16. The porous material 12 can be moved with respect to an ink ejection plane 104 such that an unused part touches the ink ejection plane 104 constantly. Consequently, the ink ejection plane 104 can be sealed surely over a long term.
