[Also in Division B8] A machine for securing contacts to a printed circuit board C comprises a staking tool D, having knife edges 26. The contacts A are arranged in parallel on a plastic strip B (see Division B8), so that the legs 14 can be inserted into the openings 22 of the printed circuit board C. The staking tool D is brought down against the legs 14 to " shave " the edges and stake them against conducting strips 20 of the board. The backing strip B can then be removed. Alternatively, it may be retained as a stiffener.
