PURPOSE: A solenoid valve of a brake system is provided to improve performance of a valve by enlarging the sectional area of a valve core contacted to an armature with modifying the structure of the valve. CONSTITUTION: A solenoid valve in a brake system is composed of a valve core(11) having a through hole in the middle, and an inlet and an outlet to flow fluid; an armature(16) moving forward and backward in a valve dome closing the end of the valve core; an exciting coil(17) installed out of the valve dome to move the armature; a plunger(18) installed in the through hole of the valve core to move backward and forward and to open and close the inlet of the valve core by interlocking with the movement of the armature; and a restoring spring(21) returning the plunger and the armature in case of not applying power to the exciting coil. A transmitting member having the outer diameter smaller than the plunger is formed between the armature and the plunger to enlarge the sectional area of the valve core near the armature. The bore of the through hole in the plunger supporting part is formed differently in the transmitting member supporting part. The performance of the valve is improved with increasing the magnetic force by enlarging the sectional area of the valve core contacted to the armature.
