PURPOSE: A system for managing knowledge is provided to strength each member's ability by providing a customized, integrated view to the member and to support a life cycle of knowledge, that is, the defining, acquiring, accumulating, and finally reusing of knowledge. CONSTITUTION: A system for managing knowledge is comprised of a knowledge defining and collecting part(10), a knowledge storing and maintaining part(20), a knowledge controlling and managing part(30), and a knowledge utilizing part(40). The knowledge defining and collecting part(10), composed of a cabinet builder(11), a source collector(12), and a knowledge map manager(13), supports a function to express internal/external knowledge, a function to define a classification system, and a function to appoint and collect knowledge sources. The knowledge storing and maintaining part(20) executes a function to appoint a person and a department in charge of knowledge management, a function to optimize the accumulation and maintenance of knowledge, and a function to frame a system operating policy. The knowledge storing and maintaining part(20) consists of a knowledge development supporter(21), an index manager(22), and a backup manager(23). The knowledge controlling and managing part(30) prevents knowledge from being degenerated and illegally issued and supports the establishment of a knowledge administration policy dependent on a utilization rate of knowledge. The knowledge controlling and managing part(30) is comprised of a portal manager(31), an account manager(32), and a utilization analyzer(33). The knowledge utilizing part(40) maximizes the utilization of knowledge, and supports an interactive opinion exchange function. The knowledge utilizing part(40) consists of own portal(41), a knowledge map searcher(42), a study organization supporter(43), and an integrated searcher(44).
