PURPOSE: A method for certifying a user face-to-face using the internet is provided to increase the convenience of the user by accurately certifying with a video camera in the course of talking on a telephone. CONSTITUTION: A user connects to a server through internet network(11). The user selects a certification site of a server(12). An initial screen for inputting a user ID and a password is displayed(13). In case that the user accurately inputs the ID and the password(14), a screen for inputting personal information is displayed(15). In case that the user inputs the personal information(16), a video camera is operated(17). Image information is transmitted to a computer of an institution via the server(18). The computer displays the user's image(19). In case that the user's face is recognized(20), the computer enables the user to photograph the user's identification card(21). The user's identification card is photographed(22). Image information on the identification card is transmitted to the computer(23). The computer judges whether information written on the card is corresponded to the information inputted(24). In case that the face photographed is compared with the face on the card(25), a screen for inputting a phone number is displayed(26). In case that the user inputs the number(27), the number is transmitted to the computer(28). In case that the computer dials the number(29), the user's figure is photographed by the camera(30). Image information is transmitted to the computer(31). The computer accurately certifies the user(32).
