PURPOSE: A roof rack for a vehicle is provided to easily change the position of a roof guide by a worker and to reduce the number of the components of a roof rack. CONSTITUTION: A roof rack is installed on the upper face of a roof to regulate the movement of a roof guide(3) freely moving along roof rails(2). A locking lever(4) of the roof guide is connected with a vertical bar(7) having an insertion front end(6) via a hinge pin(8), and the vertical bar is connected to a horizontal bar(9) penetrating through the roof guide via a connecting pin(10). A connecting bar(12) elastically supported on a spring(11) is connected to the other end of the horizontal bar. A lower insertion front end(13) of the connecting bar is inserted to and separated from a connecting hole(5b) of the other roof rail. Upon pressing the locking lever, the vertical bar is rotated counterclockwise and the insertion front end of the vertical bar is separated from a connecting hole(5a) of one roof rail. Then, the vertical bar pushes the horizontal bar, and the horizontal bar clockwise rotates the connecting bar to separated the lower insertion front end of the connecting bar from the connecting hole of the other roof rail. Thus, the roof guide is disassembled from the roof rails and the roof guide freely moves on the roof rails. For fixing the roof guide on the roof rail, the insertion front ends of the connecting bar and the vertical bar are aligned in the connecting holes of the roof rails to be inserted therein. Therefore, the position of the roof guide is conveniently changed on the roof rails by a single worker. Moreover, the number of the components is reduced.
