The motorized attachment has a scooter type chassis with a steering wheel (18) and handlebars at the front, a centrally mounted battery (14) and a motor driven back wheel (16) which is small enough to allow a wheel chair (32) to be drawn over it. The front wheels of the wheel chair (18) are secured in a pivoting frame (42) which is adjustable along a longitudinal member (12) of the chassis.
