Subcutaneously injectable quinolone formulations with zinc or magnesium compounds and a co-solvent

A method of treatment of bacterial infections a non-human animal, preferably cattle is described. Method involves a subcutaneous injection of a composition comprising danofloxacin or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and either a magnesium compound or a zinc compound in admixture with a co-solvent, which allows for improved toleration at the injection site. Also disclosed is the use of danofloxacin or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and either a magnesium compound or a zinc compound in admixture with a co-solvent in the manufacture of a medicament for treatment of bacterial infections via injection, with improved toleration at the injection site.
