PURPOSE: A method for preparing a source material and a film for a functional packing material is provided to replace a harmful and pollutant polyethylene and polypropylene film, wherein the film is biodegradable. CONSTITUTION: The source material for a functional packing material comprises 15 wt% of ceramic micro powder which is obtained by processing mica; 20 wt% of seaweeds(an agar-agar); and 65 wt% of corn leaves. The ceramic powder radiates infrared rays to maintain the freshness of agricultural and livestock products, the corn leaves forms the packing material by its fiber, and the seaweeds binds the fiber by its adhesion.
