<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe joint for preventing the leakage of a fluid such as gas to the outside of a socket and a plug if the deposition of foreign mater or a small flaw occur during connecting the socket and the plug together. SOLUTION: The pipe joint comprises a locking ball 12 provided to be set in and out of a through-hole 11 in the inner/outer periphery of a main socket cylinder 2 and a tapered protrusion and an annular groove formed at the end of a main plug cylinder 16 and on the outer periphery thereof, respectively, so that the locking ball is engaged with the annular groove and the locking ball is thrust and locked on the inner periphery face of a operation sleeve 7 when the socket 1 and the plug 15 are connected together. The inner periphery face of the main socket cylinder is provided with a circumferential groove for fitting a sealing member 14 to a position where it is thrust by an edge 16a of the main plug cylinder. When the plug is connected, the sealing-member fitted into the circumferential groove is thrust in the direction of the slant outer diameter by the edge for sealing at three sealing portions between the edge and the circumferential groove.</p> |
