PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for manufacturing a master disk used especially for repeatedly copying an embossed machining characteristic to a mass-produced optical recording disk. SOLUTION: In synchronization with disk rotation, a variable delay having duration time changed depending on the radial position of a bit on a disk is brought into a clock signal. In a preferred embodiment, a highly accurate variable time delay is generated between the rotation of a master recording spindle and the recording of a sector header on a master disk loaded on the spindle by using the clock signal. Thus, an optical disk manufactured from the master disk has an arc-shaped sector header spoke, and exhibits highest space accuracy and consequently highest timing accuracy.
