PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To write data and a parity based on the data into a multiplexed storage device without damaging the write speed even when receiving a write request for large amounts of data. SOLUTION: An optical bus 14 transmits an optical signal transmitted from a light emitting device 18 through a light transmitting medium 16, and receives light transmitted through the light transmitting medium 16 with a light receiving device 20 so that data communications between an external device and a plurality of storage devices can be performed. The optical bus 14 can be provided with a data transferring function and an adding function by using the light transmitting medium 16 capable of obtaining the total sum of the light intensity of the incident light at the transmitting side. The light receiving device 20 selects one light receiving channel according to a control signal from the controller 22, and coverts the light intensity of the inside part of the light transmitting medium 16 into an n bit digital signal, and outputs the least significant bit. In the latter case, the exclusive-OR of the light signals incident to the light transmitting medium 16, that is, the parity, can be obtained.
