PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of continuously photographing without wasting a film in such the conventional practice, in the case pf replacing a battery in the middle of photographing, even though the camera is not provided with an expensive non-volatile memory. SOLUTION: The camera is provided with a film feeding means for winding/ rewinding the film by a motor, a control means for detecting the film feeding quantity and controlling the film feeding means, and a battery which functions as at least a power source for the film feeding means and the control means. And when the battery is replaced with a new one after photographing the prescribed number of frames, the film feeding means is driven by the control means so as to wind the film, and then, the film feeding quantity until the film is stopped at the position of the final photographing frame or until the film is stopped after passing through the final frame is detected by the control means, successively, the film feeding means is driven so as to rewind the film based on the film feeding quantity, and then, the film is stopped at the frame position where the winding operation is started.
