PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure and adjust backlash between the gears of an engine balancer with high accuracy. SOLUTION: In the engine balancer in which gears are arranged in a cantilever state outside the rotation bearing section of a balancer shaft, the backlash between the gears is measured by using a rotational amount measuring means, after a weight is positioned on one side of the bearing section opposite to the gears, so that the weights of both sides of the bearing section become equal to each other.
