PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless unit employing an LCD that solves a problem of pale indication when a backlight is lighted in a conventional wireless unit employing an LCD and can obtain easiness to see indication by decreasing a display contrast when the backlight is put out and increasing the contrast when the backlight is lighted. SOLUTION: A control section 4 sets a usual contrast value (C1) as a contrast value to an LCD driver 5 when the backlight 7 is put out and sets a lighting state contrast value (C2) higher than the usual contrast value to the LCD driver 5 when the backlight 7 is lighted on the basis of a signal to switch ON/OFF the backlight 7 from an input section 10 and the LCD 6 displays its indication according to the set contrast value.
