ERROR SIGNAL DETECTOR FOR OPTICAL RECORDING AND REPRODUCING EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error signal detector for an optical recording/ reproducing equipment furnished with a photodetector for receiving the light reflected/diffracted from a recording medium and a signal processing part for detecting the error signal by calculating a detection signal of the photodetector. SOLUTION: The photodetector is provided with plural light receiving areas to independently receive the light of optical areas for each other, where the change of the beam profile due to the tangential slope of the recording medium is oppositely effected each other, and the signal processing part is provided so as to detect the error signal of the tangential slope from the detection signals of the plural light receiving areas.
