PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent 'rattling', etc. caused by serration fitting, etc., and to simply connect a yoke of a universal joint to an intermediate shaft at low cost. SOLUTION: A ring elastic fastening member 13 is externally fitted around the outer circumferential face of a connection end 4 of the yoke 3. In assembling a steering device, holders 14 are mounted on the both ends of the elastic fastening member 13 to enlarge the diameter of the elastic fastening member 13 so that the sliding resistance of the connection end 4 of the yoke 3 relative to the intermediate shaft 5 is reduced. After assembling the steering device, the holders 14 are released and the diameter of the elastic fastening member 13 is contracted by the own elastic force. Then, the connection end 4 of the yoke is contracted by the elastic force of the elastic fastening member 13 to press the intermediate shaft 5 so that the sliding resistance (fastening force) of the connecting end 4 of the yoke 3 to the intermediate shaft 5 is enhanced, thus preventing the 'rattling', etc. caused by the serration fitting, etc. |
