PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily measure an optical intensity distribution near a probe minute opening of a near-field optical device, without damaging the opening part to estimate the device. SOLUTION: An estimation method comprises a jig for retaining an optical fiber probe, a control system for controlling a position thereof; an estimation body formed on a flat substrate made of a polymer including a fluorochrome, and a detector observing generating fluorescence.
