PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably producing a conjugate polyester yarn excellent in stretchability at >=3,000 m/min spinning speed. SOLUTION: This method for producing conjugate polyester yarns comprises joining (A) a polyester consisting essentially of ethylene terephthalate units and containing 5-15 mol% of the copolymerized third component, to (B) a polyester substantially consisting of the ethylene terephthalate units to form a side-by- side conjugate yarn, extruding the polyesters at 2.7-14 cm/min linear extruding velocity from spinning nozzles having shapes of the tips opened so as to be widen to the ends to form conical shapes, cooling the extruded polyesters with a cooling air at 15-25 deg.C, drawing the cooled polyesters at 1.5-3.5 times draw ratio in a heating zone, and taking the drawn yarn off by a taking-off roller at 3,000-5,000 m/min.
