PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video and sound data transmission system for realizing reproduction synchronized with additional information when recording is performed. SOLUTION: In a transmitting side 101, the additional information when video and sound are recorded, which is necessary in a reproduction mode, is recorded by providing an additional information recording means 103, and a data synthesizing means 105 combines the additional information with video and sound data. A data editing means 106 subsequently omits the video and sound of a redundant part and then, a data transmitting part 107 performs transmission. Meanwhile, in a receiving side 111, a data additional information extracting means 114 extracts data additional information, an additional information measuring means 115 measures additional information to which the receiving side corresponds, and a video and sound signal controlling means 117 performs synchronous control over both the transmitting and receiving sides so that video and sound reproduction in which the synchronization of the additional information between the transmitting and receiving sides is assured can be realized.
