A trapezoidal cavity (2) has an upper wall (3) and a lower wall (4) formed by parts of the same coil of the band (1). The other edge (8) of the band is left free. A bulge (9) extends radially towards the upper wall of the cavity between the cavity and the free edge of the band. The band is of constant thickness. The radial bulge has a height (h) less than the height (H) of one coil of the band, preferably with h between 20 and 60% of H. The wall of the cavity next to the bulge is connected by the base (13) to the bulge. The free edge of the band is bent back and fits into the bulge of the next coil, reaching the part of the bulge nearest to or furthest from the cavity. At least part of the upper wall of the cavity is deformed radially towards the lower wall so two consecutive cavities each on a band are fastened together by a U or C profile. The cavity is made by bending part of the band so the lower wall is made of a double thickness of the band. A shaping wire covers the joints between the coils of the tube. This shaping wire can be flat or T- shaped with the vertical of the T fitting into the corresponding radial bulge. The trapezoidal sections are inverted between one cavity and the next. An Independent claim is also included for a tubular pipe containing a pressure layer and/or internal body made of a flexible metallic tube as above, e.g. with (inside to outside) an internal metallic body resisting crushing, an internal seal, a pressure layer resisting internal pressure, at least one armored layer and an external seal.
