PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state macromolecule fuel cell protected from waste of fuel and drop of cell characteristics by strengthening the sealing at the border surface between an ion exchange film and a gas sealing member. SOLUTION: For the solid state macromolecular electrolyte fuel cell, comprising an ion exchange film, and gas diffusion electrodes arranged in contact with both sides of the ion exchange film, constructing a gas sealing by arranging sealing members interposing the ion exchange film between, at both main surfaces of peripheral part of the ion exchange film where the gas diffusion electrode is not arranged, the relation of the critical surface tension of the ion exchange film as γM, and the critical surface tension of the sealing member as γS, is to be γS<γM. |
