PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical joint sealing compound capable of promoting workability of positioning of housing external wall panels and cut-off efficiency of a crossing section and in the vicinity thereof. SOLUTION: The vertical joint sealing compound is the vertical joint sealing compound for reinforcing the sealing of the crossing section of a vertical joint and a horizontal joint partitioned between the end faces opposed to each other of the housing external wall panels, and since the vertical joint sealing compound is constituted by including a narrow gasket member, cut-off sheet members arranged along the horizontal joint so as to bridge the inner part of the vertical joint, a sheet extension section of the cut-off sheet members furthr extended from the vertical joint so as to cross with the horizontal joint and a sheet extension anchor adhering to the sheet extension section and, at the same time, sealing the end of the vertical joint so as to bridge between butt ends of the housing external wall panels, submerged water W passing through gaps slightly made in both sides and the deepest part of the gasket member GK fitted to the inside of the vertical joint VJ can be prevented from leaking in the horizontal joint and/or an indoor side.
