PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake-proof structure of a wooden house having a large opening and reduce construction costs. SOLUTION: The extra struts 12 raised on both sides of a carport is made a continuous column and integrally extended to an upper floor. The first-floor portion of the extra strut 12 is provided with a common cross section part 12a stretching to the upper floor and an added cross section part 12b directed toward the outside of the carport. A beam 16 is put up across the upper part of the carport in a manner such as to join the right and left extra struts 12 together and reinforced by a triangular box-shaped steel bracket 22 mounted on a crossed part. Steel brackets 26 are fixed by through bolts on both sides of the leg part of the extra strut 12, and a rod is inserted through a steel plate mounted on an under surface into the extra strut 12. Some holes are drilled into the rod in such a manner that the direction of the holes is changed by 90 degrees. The through bolts are pressed into the horizontal holes, and drift pins 36 are pressed in the longitudinal holes. The bracket 26 and the steel plate are mounted together on a concrete footing 24 by tightening bolts.
