PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press roll which is used for a paper machine and has excellent wet paper peelability and good durability. SOLUTION: This press roll for a paper machine, characterized by comprising a metal roll cell 21, a highly anticorrosive layer 22 formed on the outer peripheral surface of the roll cell 21, and a cermet sprayed layer 23 which is formed on the highly anticorrosive layer 22 and comprises 60 to 90% of tungsten carbide and the remainder of a metal material.
