PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a treating agent for textiles capable of easily removing foulings at the time of the next washing. SOLUTION: This treating agent for the textiles comprises (I) an amphoteric polymer comprising a monomer unit having an anionic group and a monomer unit having a cationic group in which the sum total of the monomer unit having the anionic group and the monomer unit having the cationic group accounts for >=40 mol% of the whole constituent monomer units, an electrolyte and water.
