PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a retrieving method which can retrieve a web site by the input of a number recalling the web site and facilitates the registration of the number, a web server for a search engine and a storage medium stored with a retrieving process for the web site. SOLUTION: URLs and number data consisting of numbers recalling the web sites that the URLs correspond to or number data consisting of numbers and symbols are previously related and stored on the web server 3 for a search engine. Number data are inputted to a retrieval window of a browser of a client 2 and then the web site for the search engine 3 is accessed through the Internet 1 to retrieve the URL corresponding to the number data; and the web site that the retrieved URL corresponds to is accessed and the web site is displayed to the client 2 through the Internet 1.
