PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stopwatch which has its clocking less disordered by external disturbance such as a shock and is equipped with an automatic clocking function with high accuracy. SOLUTION: Stopwatches 1 and 1a each have a measurement part 10 which measures one physical quantity P, a storage part 40 which previously stores as target values Pg and Pga the value of the mentioned physical quantity at a point where a time(t) should be recorded, and recording parts 70 or 40 which records the measured value Tm of the time(t) at the point when the measured value P of the measurement part 10 reaches the target value Pg or Pga. The target value is the value Pg actually measured by the measurement part 10 at the point where the time(t) should be recorded, for example, before the time(t) begins to be measured.
