PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a stable shape of a barrior rib, which does not lose shape in calcinating and suppress unevenness of a top of the rib. SOLUTION: A first glass paste 3 is formed on a glass substrate 1 with an electrode 2 formed, and then, a second glass paste 4 is formed. Rib layers made of glass pastes 3, 4 are processed by a sand blast method into rib shape, and are calcinated. Here, with the first glass paste 3 at a lower layer, the content ratio of a filler is increased to an extent where the density of the rib is not affected, to prevent loss of shape of the rib due to calcinations, and with the second glass paste 4, the content ratio of the filler is made as little as possible or nill, to achieve smoothness of the top of the rib.
