PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-developable image-recording material having improved dependence of development on processing and superior image quality. SOLUTION: The heat-developable image-recording material has (a) a reducible silver salt, (b) a reducing agent, (c) a binder and (d) a compound of the formula A-(Time)t-X (where A is a redox mother nucleus and an atomic group capable of releasing -(Time)t-X, when oxidized in heat development; 'Time' is a timing group which combines with A through, S, N, O or Se; (t) is 0 or 1; and X is a group which acts as a development inhibitor) on at least one face of the base.
